Back to (cold) reality

Finally back home, back at work, and back into some sembalence of a normal sleeping pattern. It was quite handy that I had the extra day off booked, as yesterday was a complete write-off. Got up at 7am, had some coffee, watched a couple of episodes of SG-Atlantis, then went for a lie down, and woke up again at 7pm.

Second week of the holiday went very well, even managed to win a bit one night (well, about a couple of hundred dollars) but otherwise gambled, drank and ate way too much. All in all, success all round really.

Travel back was a nightmare though, got stuck for 2 hours on the tarmac at McCarran airport due to them overloading the plane, then a passenger being taken ill, and having to be removed (along with his hold luggage), then our plane from Gatwick got delayed due to the fog in Manchester. Made it back eventually though.

Haven't booked my first training session back yet, not looking forward to it at all, it's going to be painfull. Still, need to jump back in as soon as possible. I'll try to go this Friday.

Been thinking quite a bit about holiday the last couple of days. I had a really great time, but I can't shake the feeling I think I'm probably done with 'mates' holidays.. not that there is anything wrong with my mates, or indeed Rob who I went with this time, who was a quality person to spend time with. I think this is another one of those horrible 'growing up' things, isn't it?

Blimey it's cold. Had to put Big Coat on today, and have only braved it outside for a total of about 3 minutes so far.

I've got loads of pictures, so I'll upload them all later, and scatter some through the next couple of blog entries, as I recount my amazing tales from far-off lands. Probably with lots of referrences to Cajun Shrimp.

Stay Happy,
Pb

Glad that you had a great time! It is cold down here too and working at night is a bugger.
Mates holidays and giving them up are fine but when you are free and single it leaves you going alone or not at all as usually happens to me.

Welcome back, glad you arrived home safely, and in time for the snow tonight.
